Interview from the front lines in Ukraine: Why Belarusians join the fight against Russia?

Today we’re speaking to Pavel Kulazhanka, a Belarusian dissident who lived in New York before the war in Ukraine started. Soon after the invasion began, he decided to volunteer and join the Ukrainian army to fight Russia. Pavel is now a member of the Kastuś Kalinoŭski Battalion, one of the Belarusian volunteer military units that fight for Ukraine. We’ve asked Pavel what made him abandon his life in America, what drives Belarusians into this fight for another country, what are the scariest things they had to witness in the war zone, what are the actual weaknesses of the Russian army, and whether Moscow will eventually fall. Watch our new video for these and many more insights to see what happens in Ukraine firsthand!
