2020 Lexus LS 500 review: will it stand up to our expectations?

This week we’re reviewing the all-new Lexus LS 500, and our ultimate goal is to find out if this is indeed the best offering in the premium class sedan segment. Plus, today we’re kicking off our brand new series – #SilentTestDrive. Think about it as a preview to our regular full review and road test, just with no words. We’ll do our best to show you every single detail about the car, and you’ll drive with us to form your own opinion about it.

Let’s start with the design. When you look at the pictures on the Lexus website, they don’t quite show you what you’ll see in real life. This car looks way better, especially when it comes to the interior bits. MSRP starts from $75,450, and our test model with every single option clocks in almost $40,000 more, to a $108,490 price tag.

You’ve got a ton of comfort, beautiful leather and high-end luxury seats boasting a massage function that replicates the traditional Japanese shiatsu technique. With this combination of comfort and luxury, it reminds of Rolls-Royce. Lexus did an excellent job, especially when comparing the 2015 model we also had a chance to review (at that time called Lexus LS 460), where it felt like Lexus was just trying to sell an Avalon with a Lexus badge and a hefty price tag.

In 2020, Lexus gives you a lot better value when you look at the competitors like Mercedes Benz S450 or BMW 7 Series that start from $120,000 with similar options. The all-new Lexus still got room to grow and it needs better electronics like steering assist and more user-friendly infotainment system, but, overall, if you are on the market for luxury, check out this 2020 Lexus LS 500 – it’s got a lot to offer!
